  WT almost killed me today...kinda really

  so it is an incredible weather week here...hot but not much humidity..odd.

  so i am riding the heck out of my bike this week...and i kinda stole my wifes ipod...she never uses it and i have learned that i really, really love listening to music while riding....and i have loaded a ton of good road tunes on it.

  it is on shuffle, so i go from lynard skinnard, and just finish johnny cash..folsum prison blues (love it)..........and then it happened....on comes a monotone voice chapter 27...a bad king rules egypt.....wtf!!!

  JW's and psychological problems on the conference call Sat. July 5

  doctor jerry bergman, author of the book "jehovah's witnesses and the problems of mental illness" reveals a study suggesting that the mental illness rate of jehovah's witnesses is appproximately 10-16times higher than the rate for the general non-witness population (and that ) about 10 percent of the publishers in the average congregation are in serious need of professional help, even though many witnesses are able to hide this fact quite well...we will be discussing this on the conference call this week saturday july 5 7p.m.est.

  one of our guests will be lady zombie (name unknown) who will tell you of her friend who jehovah's witnesss have destroyed mentally.

  (lady zombie's) story will enrage you and hopefully move you to action to expose this dangerous and destructive cult.

  Speaking of WTBTS illustrations, what's up with all the dress clothes?!

  gruesome armageddon illustrations aside, what's up with never drawing women wearing pants (unless they're worldly)?!.

  picturing them at the kh is one thing, but picturing "christian" women (i.e.

  jw women) outside of the kh wearing dresses is a bit ridiculous.

  Gruesome Armageddon illustrations aside, what's up with never drawing women wearing pants (unless they're worldly)?!

  Picturing them at the KH is one thing, but picturing "Christian" women (i.e. JW women) outside of the KH wearing dresses is a bit ridiculous.

  Even doing gardening, cleaning, or just walking around, freakin' dresses and skirts. In the Revelation book, there is even a picture (later chapter I think) that shows a woman standing on a ladder, picking fruit off a tree, in a long skirt.

  So, are proper JW women never allowed to wear pants? The WTBTS would have you think so.

  C'mon! No woman is going to do some gardening or clean her house in a dress. I think they even picture women exercising in skirts (i.e. wholesome walks with the family).

  Come to think of it, I don't think they ever picture women driving cars, or doing construction, or anything else that would suggest that women can do things other than be baby machines, housewives or pioneers.

  When I was a teenager, I used to think that I didn't want to live forever if that meant never being able to wear jeans, t-shirts, and sneakers again.

  How Long Did It Take You to Realize It Wasn't "The Truth"?

  i see some posters still aren't 100% sure that the jehovah's witness religion might not be "the truth"....was there a moment when things became very clear for you regarding this religion?.

  do you still think, maybe----jws aren't all that bad??

  Hard to say. I was a born-in and never was given a choice about being a JW.

  If I had to narrow it down, it was probably when I was a teenager, but that was just for the JW religion. I still believed in the concept of god, satan, demons, creation, etc.

  It wasn't until my 20's that I lost my belief in that too. Thank you college education!!!

  i'm almost positive that someone(s) have done this, but since jws like to leave tracts in doors, waiting room tables, as tips .

  man, i'd sure like to leave those kind of tracts all over the place!.

  I was at the Darke County fair in Darke County Ohio and there was an big tent filled with anti-JW brochures, pamphlets, books, etc. There is a very, very active group of ex-JWs up there. Funny thing, one of my JW brother's married a woman whose dad is the leader of the ex-JW group.

  Do you have contact information for them? Or at least what is the name of their group (if they have a name)?

  I feel really angry

  i feel angry, bitter, resentful and stupid.

  when i was in my 30's and young and strong, and had a long stretch of life ahead of me, i went along with the jw's and didn't get my education.

  now that i am 50, divorced and barely making a living as a teacher aide, i am scrounging around trying to get the loans and grants to enable me to go to school to earn a b.a.

  Get your education and try to have a little fun while doing it.

  The JW "religion" is a cult. They do worship the FDS, even though they say they don't.

  You'll be angry for a long time. I know I'm still very angry. That's a normal reaction when a large part of your life has been stolen. Use your anger to your advantage.

  See, I never could figure out why a few of the so-called brothers and sisters would look at me with a really weird look on their faces. It was a combination of disapproval, disgust, and offense.

  I just figured they were constipated or something.

  Not to long ago, I was walking through some grass. I didn't notice when it happened, but I started smelling dog poop. The dog must have been a Rottweiler who ate Mexican food because it was pretty bad! It was so bad, that my whole face scrunched up in repulsion.

  Then it hit me!

  The look on my face was identical to the look on the faces of some of the brothers and sisters when I walk past them.

  So apparently, I've had dog poop on my KH shoes all this time!!!! Eureka!

  I'm a little upset. The polite thing would have been to tell me so I could scraped it off.

  Education and apostasy are the same, right?

  over the past year or so, i have noticed that the watchtower has been jumping all over two "threats" to the organization: higher education and apostasy.

  many times they speak about them in the same article.

  they also have been focusing on them in the assemblies and conventions.

  I removed myself mentally when I was in High School, but I still believed in things like god, satan, demons, and creation. Once I went to college, I quit believing in them too. Now I only plant my ass in a kingdom hall chair to make the folks happy however the whole congregation knows I have 2 Bachelor's and a Master's. Mostly they ignore me, some like me, and some are wary. I can tell by the way they look at me.

  I'm actually looking forward to the day when they come to disfellowship me for apostacy just because I went to college. Not for anything I say or do, but just for having a secular education.

  I know it's going to happen, I just don't know when. Call it a feeling.
